L.P.M.S. Music Department 12-13
Each year Mr.Salgueiro and his musical organizations perform a number of times throughout the year for our school, community and at numerous special competitions. We look forward each year to the band performing at the local football games and then the Band, Chorus, Bell Choir and Orchestra performing on the Christmas and Spring concerts.We are very fortunate to have such a fine and complete Music Department under such a capable Director, Aristide Salgueiro.
The Music Department gets very little help from county funds so it is important for all of us to help when we can to support fund-raising events that the department holds at various times during the year. Recent studies have shown that students involved in music programs achieve higher scores and make bigger gains on achievement tests. Think what a movie would be without music and artistic backgrounds or a football game or a church service without music. Please support the Arts in our schools as it will not be a score on FCAT that ultimately has the most effect on the lives of our students. The music and artistic concepts we learn will transfer over and benefit us for a lifetime.
