Thanks to everyone that has given MAXIMUM EFFORT for FCAT!

Welcome to Mr. Belanger's class Web site. As the URL suggests, the theme in my classroom and this site is the "the knowledge seekers." I teach my class to be "seekers of knowledge" in our adventures together. For the 2012-2013 school year, I am proud to again be teaching at Cracker Trail Elementary, home of the Mustangs! This year I will be teaching 5th Grade H.A.A.R.T. (advanced academics). I also serve the school on the curriculum leadership team.

About Mr. Belanger
I graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education, with an emphasis in urban education--a program which was designed to open up social consciousness and define skills needed to become a teacher in urban environments. I love to lead students in a direction where they learn to choose to be the best that they can be!

After arriving in Florida in 2005, I became an endorsed teacher of the gifted and certified to teach English speakers of other languages. I am married to Laura, who works at the Kindergarten Learning Center as the school's instructional technology technician (see, technology runs in the family!) We have a four year old Cockapoo named Malik, which means King in the Arabic language and a cat named Maia. We are fans of the Detroit Tigers, Lions (yes, I said the Lions!) and Red Wings!!! We had our first child, Eli, in the fall of 2009 and we are expecting another in March!
